At Tenovus Cancer Care our aims are simple. We want to help prevent, treat and find a cure for cancer. We do this by offering support, advice and treatment to cancer patients and their loved ones. We also promote healthy lifestyles and fund cancer research to find new ways to prevent it, diagnose it, and treat it. We do this where it is needed most - right at the heart of the community and our health and wellbeing team are a big part of this. Every year we run our highly successful sun safety awareness campaign called Here Comes the Sun. We love the sun in Wales but we don’t always know how to take care of our skin in the sun. What’s it all about? Our Casual Health & Wellbeing Advisor job is about delivering our cancer prevention campaigns mainly around sun safety between April and August in communities across Wales. This could also include attending events in partnership with other organisations such as Flying Start or office based activities to research further promotion of the campaign in the area. Staff training will be provided in order to have brief intervention conversations and capture the data on awareness around healthy behaviours.
